National Construction Safety Week May 2nd to 6th
National Construction Safety Week is an annual industry-wide education and awareness event.
All of us at Cahill Strategies embrace this concept as a core value, meaning safety is a pursuit for everyone, in every part of the construction process. From pre-con to C of O, when dealing with design professionals, contractors and regulatory agencies, safety should always at the forefront of project planning and execution.
Safety is a culture that places a high level of importance on safety beliefs, values and attitudes—and these are shared by the majority of people within the company or workplace. It can be characterized as ‘the way we do things around here”.
Apart from our Construction Solutions consultancy, our efforts also include active participation in the NYC construction industry regulatory process. Our Director of Construction Code and Safety, Bobby D’Alessio and our CEO, Diane Cahill have been active contributors in developing revisions to the new building code, especially Chapter 33.
This week, we wish to re-apply ourselves to the value of safety by helping our clients and industry partners to discover new and emerging resources for learning, re-educating, and improving our capacity to improve safety for the entire industry.

Robert “Bobby” D’Alessio, is a former New York City Department of Buildings Senior Executive Director of Construction Safety. Having held various positions with the NYC DOB for over 26 years including Construction Inspector, Supervisor, Assistant Chief, Chief, Inspection Manager, Director, and Senior Executive Director overseeing the Building Enforcement Safety Team (BEST Squad), he brings years of knowledge and experience to our Construction Department service portfolio.
