Diane Cahill is a highly experienced strategist in government relations and communications, specializing in various sectors including business and industry, education, construction, and healthcare. She has extensive experience working for clients in both the private and public sectors, working with various levels of business and government. At Cahill Strategies, Diane leads a team of government relations and communications professionals.
Diane started her career at two major law firms in the Long Island region after college, where she honed her skills in strategizing, problem-solving, and navigating the complexities of business and government. She then moved on to work for the labor movement, focusing on combining government relations and communications to support workforce development, education, and assistance for incumbent and dislocated workers. Diane created a Workforce Development Center and held the position of Executive Director for the Long Island Region, while also serving on various boards related to workforce development and education.
For more than two decades, Diane has been a lobbyist and advocate for education and healthcare, with a focus on children and adolescents with special needs and their families. Her work in the field of autism as an outreach coordinator and community liaison in the New York region has earned her the respect of healthcare, education, and special needs communities. Diane supports increased funding for research, access to programs and services, and quality health care. She has played a vital role in passing landmark autism insurance reform legislation and companion legislation for BCBA Licensure in New York State.
Diane has also served as a lobbyist and problem solver for a regional lobbying firm, where she was promoted from Vice-President to Partner. In this role, she established a practice area focused on the needs of the New York construction industry. Her relationships with various state and city agencies, public utilities, and regulatory agencies have allowed her to provide tangible, substantial savings for clients in the construction industry. Diane’s extensive network of relationships with elected officials and business leaders has enabled her and Cahill Strategies to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
Diane’s achievements have been recognized by Long Island Business News, which named her one of the Top 50 Women in Business in 2014. In 2016, she founded Cahill Strategies, LLC, assembling a team of experienced and dedicated professionals to address client needs across all practice areas.
