Bernard “Bernie” Ross – Senior Construction Safety Associate

Bernard “Bernie” Ross is a highly experienced professional in the field of construction in New York City. He served the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) for over 20 years in various roles, including Construction Inspector, Supervising Inspector, Director of Major Projects, and ultimately, Director of Construction Safety Enforcement. During his tenure at the DOB, Bernie played a crucial role in overseeing safety and compliance on some of the largest and most complex construction projects across all five boroughs of New York City.

After retiring from the DOB, Bernie joined Cahill Strategies as a Senior Construction Safety Associate. In this role, his primary focus is on providing construction safety analysis for clients’ major building and renovation projects in New York City and the surrounding regions. With his extensive qualifications and background in managing teams and major projects, Bernie brings valuable expertise to the company and serves as an invaluable resource for clients both within and outside of New York.

During his time as the DOB’s Director of Major Projects from 2013 to 2018, Bernie worked closely with owners and construction managers (CMs) of significant buildings throughout the planning, construction, and final approval processes. He gained extensive experience in reviewing project progress and plans for future phases, as well as coordinating with multiple city agencies to ensure compliance with regulations. Bernie’s expertise in project scheduling analysis and regulatory compliance makes him an integral part of Cahill Strategies’ mission to deliver professional and experienced services to their construction clients.
