NYC Department of Buildings COVID-19 Update Saturday Evening 3/21

As mentioned last night, Governor Cuomo announced that 100% of the non-essential workforce needs to work remotely beginning tomorrow Sunday March 22, 2020 at 8pm under the “New York State on PAUSE” Executive Order.

As it stands the clarification language reads : “With respect to business or entities that operate or provide both essential and non-essential services, supplies or support, only those lines and/or business operations that are necessary to support the essential services, supplies, or support are exempt from the restrictions.” We understand that this list is still causing concern, confusion, and uncertainty for the construction industry and we are working to obtain further clarification on this item.

Again we implore you and your team to maintain best practices for cleaning sites and we have attached the NYC DOB handouts from last night to this email for your reference. Should you wish to have individual clarification the New York State- Empire State Development waiver is attached to this email and it can be submitted.
