Special Event Construction Embargo in Midtown Manhattan
Updated: February 1, 2022
A Special Event Construction Embargo will be in effect for NYPD Police Officer Wilbert Mora’s wake and funeral starting today, affecting construction work in select areas of Midtown Manhattan.
The Department of Buildings recommends that building contractors and construction professionals in the area should refrain from any exterior building construction and construction-related deliveries during this time. Delivery and construction vehicles, such as concrete truck deliveries, heading to the area may also be disrupted.
This embargo is in effect starting Tuesday, February 1st at 12:01 AM through Wednesday, February 2nd at 11:59 PM.

During embargoes, all active permits in the affected area(s) are suspended and no new permits may be approved, unless a waiver for the work is granted by NYC DOT.
