NYC DOB: Clarification on Local Law 147 of 2021: New Definition of Major Buildings to Become Effective December 11, 2024

Effective December 11, 2024, the definition of a ‘major building’ in Section 202 of Chapter 2 of the NYC Building Code will change from an existing or proposed building 10 or more stories or 125 feet or more in height, to an existing or proposed building 7 or more stories or 75 feet or more in height.

New York State Budget Passes with New Affordable Housing Tax Break – 485x

The New York State Legislature has replaced the expired 421a program with a new initiative called 485x, also known as the "Affordable Neighborhoods for New Yorkers" program. This new tax incentive program aims to increase affordability for tenants and raise wages for workers on construction projects that receive the tax benefit.
