NYC DOB: Build to Launch Suspended Scaffold Work Type

From NYC DOB:

Beginning November 15, 2023, all new Suspended Scaffold filings will be required to be submitted in DOB NOW: Build. This applies to applications that are currently submitted using either the CD5 or PW1 form.

Suspended Scaffolds in DOB NOW

To file for a suspended scaffold in DOB NOW, select the new Suspended Scaffold (SC) work type and subcategory Suspended Scaffold or Industrial Rope Access. Depending on the scope of the work, the applicant of record can be a licensed Rigger, a licensed Sign Hanger, or a Registered Design Professional (PE/RA). Only a PE/RA can select Filing Review Type Professional Certification.

Notifications of Installation & Removal

Required notifications of installation and removal of the suspended scaffold will be submitted in DOB NOW. Select +Notifications, Suspended Scaffold, and enter the DOB NOW or BIS Job Filing Number or the CD5 application (SR) number or proceed without a job filing number if a permit exception in Building Code 3314.2 applies.

NYC DOB: Periodic Gas Piping System Inspections

From NYC DOB:

Reminder to property owners in Community Districts 11,12, 14, 16 and 17, that the deadline for their periodic gas piping system inspections, as required by Local Law 152 of 2016, is right around the corner.

All buildings in these Community Districts, except for one- and two-family homes and other buildings classified in occupancy group R-3, are required to have their gas piping systems inspected by December 31st, 2023.
