The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) has announced a significant change to the Certificate of Correction (COC) submission process. Starting December 15, 2025, all COC requests must be filed through DOB NOW: Safety. Below are the key details and guidance for compliance.
What’s Changing?
- Mandatory Use of DOB NOW: Safety: All COC requests must be submitted via the DOB NOW: Safety portal as of December 15, 2025.
- Transition Details:
- COC requests submitted in DOB NOW: BIS Options before December 15 will continue in that system until completion.
- Any COC requests in pre-filing status on December 15 will be cancelled and must be resubmitted through DOB NOW: Safety.
Step-by-Step: Submitting a COC Review Request
- Log in to DOB NOW.
- Select the DOB NOW: Safety module, then choose Violations & Notices of Deficiency.
- On the Violations dashboard, select +Certificate of Correction Review Request and enter the summons number.
- Complete all required fields, including the Documents and Signatures & Statement tabs.
- Save and submit your COC for DOB review.
